Welcome back to Andrew, and congrats to he and his wife on the birth of their second son!
Recently, the Library of Congress released an edict governing the exceptions related to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act or DMCA. (By the way, for an interesting read about DRM, go read the full act at the Library of Congress website.) Now, this gets a touch complicated. The new edict essentially relaxes the rules for what constitutes legal digital-lock cracking. In other words, when is it ok to get around the DRM rules of a corporation so long as it benefits the end user in a specific way and does not lead to excessive distribution of copyrighted material. Complicated, right? To give you an example, the Library of Congress stated that jailbroken iPhones are essentially legal and that it's ok to upload short clips from DVDs for non-commercial use. Confused yet?

Just a quick note to let your website visitors know that the OBA Store is back online. And, with our speedy new web server, we should be able to deliver the downloaded audiobooks to you much more quickly.
Also, for visibility's sake, we're in the middle of a major redesign of the store and it's functionality, integrating it more fully into the main Open Book Audio site. Be on the lookout for that coming soon, and another fun giveaway or two to go with it.

Just a quick note to let you know that the hosting transition is moving along fairly smoothly. We have the main site back up but the store isn't functioning at this time. Please be patient, and we'll have the store back up and running in no time.

Open Book Audio will be moving our website and store to new servers in the next couple of days. We don't expect there to be a great deal of interruption between the two sites, but just in case you pop over to see us and we're not here, don't give up hope. We're just relocating and will be back up soon!
Because of the website move and Andrew having family in town to celebrate the birth of his new son, we won't be doing the podcast this week. We'll grab it next week, and then we'll finally discuss The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Until then, keep on listening!
